phill harding is a freelance composer/soundartist based in the pennine hills of west yorkshire, england [uk]. much of phill’s current work involves the use of environmental field recordings—focusing on the sounds we usually ignore or filter out—to point out the beauty in the mundane.

this blog is phill’s attempt to document his daily life.

    i’ve just discovered your site/work tonight and think it’s amazing, the simplest of things are the most beautiful. you seem to have an ear for amazing natural occuring compositions it’s a rare gift.

    wicked site phill.
    all those sound we overlook on a daily basis are so important, and really special.
    its great you’re bringing them to our attention in this way.
    i too try to use natural ambiences wherever i can, i feel they can provoke memories, associations and feelings.
    really top stuff man. those mic’s are sweet too!

    Hi Phill. and thanks for your all fine comments on our (Matt and i) myspace. i like a lot what you have done here with images and sounds, escpecially i like the picture of greengrass and white ladies, it made me smile a little.
